A world famous old and traditional "Langhoor Festival" of Amritsar started with full religious and traditional activities at Bharha Hanuman Mandhir, Shri Durgiana Temple today. Thousands of devotes from different areas of Punjab, Other states and out of country participated in Morning Arrati ceremony at morning and payed homage at the front of statue of God Shri Hanuman to stand in long rows for wait their turn. Children have wear the traditional dress of Langhoor's , those came in Mandhir to fulfill their oaths.
As the Hindu mythology, the ladies have not mail child took prayer and oath at Mandhir for child. Those gave birth to mail child, the families of child came in this Mandhir with the child to wear special dress, to pay homage God Hanuman. Bal Krishan Sharam and Suresh Sharma the priest's of the Mandhir said Bharha Hanuman Mandhir is a Sidha Peeth of God Hanuman. As mythology in Tretra, when God Rama had organised the Aswha Meghas Yaggha , the the sons of Rama Love and Susha caught the Horse of Aswha Meghas and then God Hanuman came here to rescue the hosre, the Love and Kusha had tide the God Hanuman with the tree of Peepal here. From that time this place have traditional religious importance. People came here to pray for mail child and also came with prayed child in dress of Langhoor, added the priests. The festival started from today would be go for ten days. Daily the children in Langhoor dressed up came mandhir to took participation in daily prayer.
