The politicians of all political parties whether they are in power or not ,make tall promises which are seldom fulfilled. This is true for Navjot Singh Sidhu, Member of Parliament from Amritsar who has promised DR. N.S. NEKI, Prof. of Medicine, Govt. Medical College, Amritsar for donating Rs 2 lakh from his pocket fordoing selfless services to the society.DR. NEKI organised free medical camp in the premises of Distt Bar on Jan 9, 2008, where more than 1000 advocates, judges were medically examined for Diabetes & Hypertension. It was the first ever medical camp held in the more than 100 years old history of Amritsar Bar.MP, Sidhu made official annoucement in the presence of Sh SP BANGAR, then Distt Sessions Judge, Sh Karnail Singh, Additional Sessions Judge, Kahan Singh Pannu, present Deputy Commisioner Amritsar & the Presjdent of Distt Bar Association, VK DHAND that he was pleased with the free services rendered by DR. NEKI to the judiciary. When asked , DR. NEKI said that he will distribute money, Rs 2 lakh, given as prize by Sidhu to the needy persons of the society.
